Our last day started early in the morning at 7 AM when the driver of the New Son Bijou diving center came to pick us up from our hotel. We went to the diving center to try out the equipment and then we went on the boat together with 4 Germans and 2 Finnish guys – a cute couple around 60s, passionate about diving.. and of course around 10 more Asian guys, probably Chinese or Japanese.
It is usually so hot in Egypt as they told me, but this was the end of the “winter” like Egyptians say (I.e. the cool summer, they have two seasons – cool summer and hot summer), so it was soo windy that I almost started to wonder if I will be diving today or should I not do this.. but I was already on the boat so I thought there was no coming back and I have to do it. I won’t lie – it was freeeezing, but only outside, after the briefing for our safety in the water, the experienced divers went first, because their diving session would be longer and around 22 meters deep while ours was around 10-15 minutes (that’s it when you do it for the first time and have a flight later that day) and we were around 7-8 meters deep.
It was BEAUTIFUL, we didn’t have big expectations and we saw so many beautiful fishes, you just can’t be disappointed. The other guys who went deeper saw big turtles and a few days ago they saw dolphins, too. So its definitely worth it. Then after the first diving, we had lunch on the boat, really delicious and we moved to another reef where we were going to dive again. I saw a pretty fish with yellow, blue and green, so colorful ♥ I really enjoyed the day and I recommend the New Son Bijou center to anyone who goes to Hurghada and is up for an adventure like this!! Ahmed and Lidiya are a really nice and kind couple and they made us feel great in their company and safe with their professional instructors.
That’s it for our trip in Egypt, sadly. Bye! 🙂
