2) Namibia: the gourgeous country Namibia is

The next day came and someone picked us up from the hotel in a van to bring us to the office of the tour agency, Chameleon Safaris Namibia CC. By the way, if you decide to go to Namibia, I cannot recommend this agency more, I had the best time of my life with our two guides Kennedy and Erastus. The best guides and people ever! So someone took us to the office, along the way we picked up an American pair, brother and sister, Peter and Shelley and a Spanish woman Maite, and for that moment that was our group. In the office, they asked us to fill in a form with some extra information they needed and then we met our guide Kennedy who would give us a briefing. He has worked at the company for 9 years and is quite a young guy, 28 years old if I’m not wrong. He introduced us to Erastus, a new colleague of theirs who started recently and this was his first trip with the company so he tagged along with Kennedy to learn from him how they do everything in this company.

At first, we were 5 people, but one more person, a Taiwanese guy – Shin, was supposed to join us, but he had his fight delayed, he’d catch up with us directly at the first night’s campsite and then in the second part of the tour, we’d be joined by a Brazilian man, Eduardo, so we’d need 2 guides since they were going to drive us, help us set camps, cook for us, give us information about everything etc. That was A LOT of work for them. Luckily though,is our group slowly but surely

bonded, each and every one of us had his/her own little crazy things and somehow they all matched perfectly and we really did bond with the group as well as with the tour guides. In fact, I believe without the contribution of Kennedy and Shelley, specifically, the rest of us maybe would be a bit shy or would definitely be a bit slower in the “bonding” process but they really did accelerate that 🙂

Whether it’d be by randomly pulling out a candy or marshmallows (Shelley) for the fire, come up with campfire games (Shelley), or tell us funny stories (Kennedy and Erastus), I think these are the moments I will remember forever, actually. Not the game drives or the nature (yes, of course, I will remember those), but the thing here is that without this group, the experience would’ve been waaay different. My brain works in a weird way and I tend to associate places with the experiences, people, scenery, smells, music, in this case it was mostly the campfire experiences that set the vibe for the trip. So, after a bad start (immigration), Kennedy and Erastus and our group did turn the events at 180 degrees and I had a TON of fun.

Ok so after all this, let’s go back to a bit of a day-by-day stories.
